The Evolution of Timber 

Wood is a strong and durable natural resource. People have been using it to create furniture for generations and now Ikea is a large part of the timber trade. Two-thirds of all of Ikea's furniture is made out of wood and they praise themselves from using sustainable forest methods. For this reason, it is important to understand the validity of certification. By looking at the production-consumption model, we will be able to learn how Ikea strives to create durable items that are both FSC-certified and affordable at the same time.
